A true gem of a helmet! The theory is that this helmet likely belonged to a Vermont auto stock car racer from one of the Vermont auto racing tracks, however I have no proof of this claim. It very wellcould have been for a bike rider/racer. It was found in South Eastern Vermont, possibly could be from New Hampshire even. The paint job is very much 1950s area and original to the helmet.
Approximate Measurements: 11 3/4" long, 7 3/4" wide, 6 1/4" tall.
Condition: Very Good condition, as found. Original patina and wear from use. Leather is soft and flexible.Was definitely cared for and treated over the years. Some rust on the chrome coated snaps for the ear flaps and chin buckle. One inner upper head support is starting to rip (Photo #11).Please see photos to best determine overall condition.
