The strut is a three piece strut, and once quickly bolted together it will run the length of your 16’ door. A strut is also known as a u-bar or a brace. As your garage door opener opens it pulls on the middle of the door. Thus creating stress to the door with the risk of creasing the section and the collapse of the section. This strut brace will help reinforce your garage door. Different model garage doors have different outside center stiles. The pre-existing outside center stile holes in the strut may or may not line up with your door’s stiles. Not to worry this is common and not a problem. The included self tappers will drill holes in the strut to attach it to your stiles no matter their placement.
