The Italy 1,000 Lire Banknote was issued by the Bank of Italy in 1982. It has brown, green, orange, purple, and black colors. Its obverse side contains the seal of the Maritime Republics, a griffon and dragon underprint, and a portrait of Marco Polo. Its reverse side is vertically-oriented and features the Doge’s Palace in Piazza San Marco in Venice. Security features include a solid security thread and a watermark of Marco Polo with an electrotype BI monogram. It has also been signed by Fortunato Speziali and Carlo Azeglio Ciampi. The note is 112 x 61 mm in size. This banknote is in used condition.
