This is a veteran, but still presentable,
Banca D’Italia"
note for
"Lire Cinqvanta"
or Fifty Lire. These were issued with a date of July 18, 1942 during World War II.
When this note was issued Italy was fighting alongside the Germans in North Africa. On November 8 of this year
“Operation Torch”
landed British and American troops in North Africa and the long retreat of the Axis powers began.

A veteran, it has seen a lot of hands. This piece was surely used during the war. It has some tears and holes.
