For sale is a pair of Vintage 1960s Etonic Black Alligator Crocodile Print Corfam Dress Shoes Rare Men's 9 B.
For your consideration is a wearable rare piece of history from Etonic, a midcentury (approximately 1960s) Apron Split Toe Blucher Dress Shoes, in Alligator/Crocodile Print, in the experimental DuPont Corfam. DuPont developed this material in the late 1950s and decided, due to it's high production cost, to market it to shoe-makers. This led to it being tested throughout the following decade by various shoe-makers and being a featured item of DuPont's at the 1964 World's Fair. These shoes feature a unique Corfam Crocodile/Alligator print upper, apron split toe blucher dress shoe design, leather lining, cushioned leather insole (marked "Contoured Cushion Comfort, Staff Model, Etonic, All Weather, Made in U.S.A., Du Pont Corfam, Man-Made Poromeric Upper"), leather midsole, leather outsole (with tight waist, characteristic of higher-end shoes), rubber heel, and Goodyear Welt Construction.
These shoes have been worn sparingly and maintained exceptionally well. I have cleaned the uppers and lining/insoles of these shoes with leather wipes. They come from a pet and smoke-free home.
