Condition: This art measures 14 x 14 inches. The artist has signed his name on the front lower center. He has also dated this painting (by hand) at 2007. The artist has also personalized this artwork (See his writing on the 5th photo). In that hand written message, he has thanked someone for their military service to our country. This art is a print. I have examined it under high magnification. There are absolutely no pixels at all. It must be a Giclee print, of the highest quality. Sadly, I cannot make out the handwritten signature of the artist with any certainty. It looks to me like it says: Stewart Fleming.

This artwork is of a biplane, WWI vintage, or shortly after that time period. I grew up in northern Illinois. We lived just a couple of miles from a small, but very active airport. Almost 60 years ago there were lots of biplanes still flying around. As a young child I would wave to the pilots, and they would sometimes wave back. Many times they would wave their wings (That's thrilling to a young boy). My love for flying and old airplanes was birthed in those early years.
This is a beautiful work of art. Not only is the art in superb conditon, the craft of the art is excellent as well. The monochormatic painting is very reflective of an early time that is mostly remembnered in black and white photographs. The piece honors those magnificant machines and the men who flew them. This artwork reminds me of my favorite movie (or one of many favorites), "Out of Africa." I loved the biplane that Robert Redford flew throughout Central Africa. That's why, in part, I have traveled there seven times.
